Your Kids Are Spying: What They're Really Learning From You!
Those Little Spies Are Everywhere
Alright, parents, gather 'round! Let’s have a little chinwag about the mini-humans we're raising. They're absolutely brilliant, aren't they? Full of cheek, bursting with energy, and... observing absolutely everything we do. Yes, you heard right. While you're busy juggling work, tea times, and the endless sock monster, those little ones are taking mental notes. So, what exactly are they clocking? Let’s have a giggle and a little think about the things those little sponges are soaking up.

Phone Obsessed?
First up, and let's be honest, this one stings a bit: your relationship with your phone. Yep, they see you scrolling through Insta while they’re trying to tell you about the epic Lego castle they built. They notice when your eyes are glued to the screen instead of theirs when they're chatting about school. It’s a bit of a wake-up call, right? Maybe we can all try to put the phone down just a tad more.

The School Run and beyond
Then there's the reaction to their artwork. They've spent hours painstakingly colouring in that picture of a stick man who, let's be honest, probably looks more like a squiggle, but they are looking for your reaction! Are you gushing praise, or are you giving it the old “that’s… nice” whilst trying to multi task? And school projects? They notice if you're genuinely interested or if you're just ticking a box. The same goes for the rules you set – if you're skipping them, they will too.

Say Sorry! (and Mean It)
And how about when we mess up? Do we apologize, or do we sweep it under the carpet like it was a rogue crisp? Kids notice when we admit we’re wrong (or more importantly, when we don't!). And they're also soaking up how we talk about other family members. A bit of gossip here and there? They're listening! It's a right tricky one to keep a lid on, but something to be mindful of.

Love is in the Air
Finally, little ears are very attuned to how we show affection, not just to them but to our partners too. Are you showering your loved one with "I love you's," or are you leaving the romance in a box? And are there plenty of laughs and smiles in your daily routine, or are you always a little stressed out? Plus those tense shoulders you try to hide? They are on to you!

So, there we have it. Our kids are like tiny little CCTV cameras, taking in our every move. The good news is, this isn't a lecture - it's a reminder to try and be the best version of ourselves and to lead by example. We're all human, we all have our off days but lets try to remember our little sponges are watching us and soaking in more than we may think!
